Big Red Winter Wishes Snowglobe
The University of Louisville College of Business sends its students a friendly, happy holiday message via social media every year.
To create something unique for the 2023 holiday greeting, I wanted the imagery to be synonymous with the UofL College of Business experience. After exploring different options, I settled on the College's sizeable outdoor statue and art piece, Big Red. The statue is instantly recognizable by UofL students and is the college's unofficial mascot, appearing often in print and digital media.
I used Blender to create a stylized poly 3D statue model to achieve a unique look. To take home the "winter wishes" message, I placed Big Red in a snow globe to emphasize the season without pinpointing any particular holiday. I learned to use Blender for this project via LinkedIn Learning and countless YouTube tutorials. The final rendering was edited in Adobe After Effects, adding snowfall, animated text, and a smooth, jazzy tune.
The end product is a stand-alone, visually exciting piece for the College of Business students. In addition to the physical assets, a successful social media campaign was launched to thousands of UofL students and the community via Instagram and Facebook.
